During our recent trip to California, we had the chance to stop by 805 Bicycles in Simi Valley. Owned by Nick and his partner Sean, the shop is a treasure chest for BMX riders, collectors, and fans of bike culture. Check out our video on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/KbDq90OBEJY

A Shop With History
Nick has been part of the BMX scene for decades. After running a shop in Las Vegas until 2018, he moved operations to Simi Valley and opened the current 805 Bicycles location just a few months ago. The new shop is packed wall to wall with old school BMX bikes, rare parts, and memorabilia that bring back memories for anyone who grew up in the sport.
What You’ll Find Inside
Walk through the doors and you’ll be greeted by:
A Harry Leary Turbo, one of the holy grails of BMX.
Vintage Mongoose, GT, Robinson, Schwinn, and Hutch builds.
Signed posters, magazines, and photos from legends like Mike Miranda and Eddie Fiola.
Original parts, including NOS hubs, cranks, stems, and pad sets.
A collection of BMX jerseys, including factory and Hall of Fame editions.
The shop isn’t just a museum. It’s a full-service bike shop handling repairs, restorations, custom wheel builds, and sales of new BMX, mountain, and e-bikes.
The Community Connection
Nick and Sean are clear about their mission: support BMX. They’re not just selling bikes and parts. They’re sponsoring riders worldwide, helping with contests, and making sure BMX history and culture stay alive for the next generation. Events like Dirty Fest give them a chance to connect with riders, legends, and fans who share that same passion. That's how we got to know Nick Sean and we are glad we did!
Why It Matters
For many of us, BMX shaped our youth. Seeing a 1977 Mongoose or an old Predator on the shop floor sparks instant memories. Shops like 805 Bicycles keep those connections alive while also helping new riders get into the sport.
Visit 805 Bicycles
If you’re in the Simi Valley area, 805 Bicycles is worth the visit. If you’re not local, you can check out their online stores at flatsoccietybmx.com and level7bmx.com. They ship worldwide and offer custom builds for riders who want something special. We had Nick build the rims for my Hollywood Hutch which I am eagerly waiting for the postman to deliver.
This shop is more than a place to buy bikes. It’s a community hub, a history lesson, and a reminder of why we fell in love with BMX in the first place. We wish this shop was in our home town!
